X axis definition

What is the X Axis?

The X axis is the horizontal scale used in a graph; thus, it is the line that runs across the bottom of the graph. It serves as a reference line from which measurements are made on the coordinate plane. The distance from the x axis and the y axis describes the location of an item on that plane. Points plotted along the X axis have a value of zero for all other plotted coordinates.
