What is Goal Congruence?

Goal congruence is a situation in which people in multiple levels of an organization share the same goal. A well thought-out organizational design causes goal congruence and results in an organization being able to work together to accomplish a strategy.

A good way to achieve goal congruence is to involve employees in the process of goal development. As long as management actually listens to their comments and incorporates them into the final set of goals, this can result in more employee buy-in to the goals.
