Management by walking around

Management by walking around requires a manager to regularly visit employees to informally discuss their work. This frequent, informal approach allows a manager to keep current on workplace issues. By doing so, the manager can respond more rapidly to problems while they are still small. Also, employees tend to appreciate such constant contact and responsive action, since it addresses their concerns more promptly. There tends to be much less conflict between employees and management in this environment.
