The Institute conducts testing for the Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation, which is the primary certification awarded to internal auditors. Those awarded the CIA designation must maintain it by meeting continuing professional education requirements. The Institute has been located for many years in Altamonte Springs, Florida.
