A Gantt chart is a horizontal bar chart that graphically displays the tasks associated with a project. Time intervals are expressed on the horizontal axis, while the tasks to be completed are stated on the vertical axis. The chart is used to view the start, duration, and end date of each task, as well as dependencies between the various tasks. Gantt charts are among the most common tools used to manage projects. A number of project management software packages incorporate Gantt charts into their suites of management tools.
