Manufacturing resource planning (MRP II)

Manufacturing resource planning is an integrated system for running the production area. It is an expansion of the material requirements planning concept beyond just production planning, with additional computer-based capabilities in the areas of planning for direct labor, machine capacity, scheduling, job costing, and shop floor control. The intent behind an MRP II system is to coordinate the management of the production area by centralizing information and automating the planning for as many functions as possible.
