Privileged communication

A privileged communication is usually a conversation between an attorney and a client, which is considered to be confidential. The attorney who receives information from a client is not legally obligated to divulge the nature of the conversation. Privileged communications can also be held between a CPA and a client, a doctor and a patient, a reporter and a source, and so forth. Confidential conversations cannot be treated as privileged unless there is an applicable protective law.
