Private accountant

A private accountant is an individual who reports to the managers of an organization and conducts accounting solely for that organization. A private accountant may be involved in both financial and managerial accounting; that is, tasks such as preparing financial statements and conducting internal investigations about costs. The position is different from that of a public accountant, where a person works as an independent auditor and conducts audits for a number of clients.
