Cost Accounting Standards Board

The Cost Accounting Standards Board (CASB) encourages uniform and consistent accounting activities when engaged in contracts for federal government contracts and grants. CASB regulations are contained within 48 CFR, Chapter 99. The regulations are mandatory for all executive agencies, as well as for contractors and subcontractors in the estimation, accumulation, and reporting of costs related to the pricing of prime contracts and subcontracts that exceed $500,000.
