Chartered certified accountant

A chartered certified accountant is the title given to an individual who is fully qualified to provide an audit opinion on the financial statements of a client. The title is used within the British Commonwealth and other countries, and is conferred by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. Prior to 1996, a person with this certification was called a certified accountant. The equivalent title in the United States is Certified Public Accountant.
