Office of Management and Budget

The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) is a federal agency that is located within the Executive Office of the President. The OMB is the largest component of the Executive Office. The OMB is responsible for the following activities:

  • Budget development and execution, which the President uses to implement decisions, policies, priorities and actions
  • Oversees agency performance, Federal procurement, financial management, and information/IT
  • Coordination of all significant regulations by the executive agencies
  • Review of all agency communications with Congress, including testimony and draft bills
  • Issuance of Executive Orders and Presidential Memoranda to agency heads and officials
