Cycle Counting
Definition: Cycle counting is the process of counting a small proportion of a total inventory on a daily basis. Cycle counts can address all types of inventory uniformly, or counts can be skewed to address higher-value or higher-usage items more frequently. A key aspect of cycle counting is to investigate and correct the reasons for any errors found, rather than merely adjusting the inventory records.
